production technician + showroom associate

 

OVERVIEW

As a Production Technician and Showroom Associate, you will play a crucial role in our jewelry production process as well as helping manage the customer experience and direct sales in our showroom. You will be responsible for finishing jewelry pieces, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and aesthetics,

The right candidate will be friendly and professional, helping us to build and maintain our quality standards throughout the brand. This role provides opportunities for growth and collaboration as well as independent work. It is an ideal role for a detail-oriented, self-motivated personality that enjoys taking ownership of their work and the tangible satisfaction of a job well done.

Position details + preferred availability

This is a part time, non-exempt position with a starting hourly wage of $19 per hour, depending on experience.

Our ideal candidate would be satisfied with 15-20 scheduled work hours per week, and has availability to fulfill additional hourly work on an as needed basis. Must be available to work evenings (Thursday + Friday) and Saturdays.

In this position you will be subject to a six-month probationary period, starting on your first day of work. Opportunity for performance based raise after 3-6 months.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Receiving: raw metal and part receiving, preparation and organization.

  • Soldering: using a soldering torch (600+ degrees) to melt and bond various types of metal (primarily brass + sterling).

  • Finishing: Pickling, tumbling, antiquing, flex shaft buffing, using polishing compounds, tagging, etc.

  • Setting: Setting natural stones into jewelry with precision and care.

  • Assembly: Assemble jewelry components, including chains, clasps, and other elements.

  • Quality Control: Inspect finished jewelry for defects and imperfections.

  • Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records of materials and finished products.

  • Packaging: Prepare jewelry for shipment, including tagging, packaging, labeling and shipping.

  • Errands: Often picking up materials & dropping off finished pieces.

  • Brand Experience Management: Consistently helping to advance Commonform's commitment to growth and exceptional customer service.
